As a Brit who has now lived in Singapore for fourteen years, I work with customers across the world. I’m used to working across multiple cultures and factoring in cultural differences. This is especially important as my expertise focuses on experiencing and expressing difficult emotions, and cultural expectations of emotion vary quite dramatically. So far, I’ve spoken to audiences in 25 countries, I’m used to working with translators and I frequently deliver in different time zones for virtual keynotes.

Even before the pandemic, my work was a mix of in-person and online delivery. As a result, as well as being comfortable on a stage, I’m an experienced online speaker. I have a great setup in my home office for virtual keynotes: you can read more about that in my Event Success Guide.

My academic background gives me credibility and helps the audience to understand how deeply emotions impact us all. All my audience takeaways are built on evidence-based research from neuroscience and psychology. I’m aware that most people aren’t passionate fans of research like I am, so my keynotes help audiences frame research findings in real-life contexts through relatable stories.

Research has shown that gender diversity on stages is still an issue, as almost two-thirds of speakers globally are men. As a female speaker, I help to diversify your stage and better reflect the gender balance of your audience.
